Qatar University’s (QU) Gas Processing Center (GPC) signed a framework agreement yesterday with the newly opened Rosneft International Center for Research and Development - QSTP, which involves research and educational activities.
The agreement was signed by Dean of QU’s College of Engineering (CENG) Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji and Director General of Rosneft International Center for Research and Development QSTP-LLC Dr. Murad Bagliev, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Qatar HE Nurmakhmad Kholov, CENG deans, GPC Director and a number of representatives from QU and Rosneft.
By signing this framework agreement, both GPC and Rosneft will have access to oil and gas expertise to share knowledge and technology designs to the oil and gas industry through research activities and training programs. The terms of the framework agreement include collaboration on the evaluation of the current studies and consultations in the area of oil and gas. Both parties will cooperate to develop effective joint research projects with international organizations and research centers, as well as new training programs for oil and gas industry professionals.
Commenting on the framework agreement, CENG Dean Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji said, “The College of Engineering, through the Gas Processing Center (GPC), is committed to developing these joint initiatives with local and international industries, and we are delighted to sign this agreement with Rosneft International Center for Research and Development QSTP-LLC. The GPC represents the cornerstone of the college’s research activities in the oil and gas sector and we will continue our commitment to invest in research and training programs at the GPC to promote Qatar National Vision 2030 in sustainable development in the oil and gas industry.”
Dr. Murad Bagliev commented saying, “Rosneft International Center for Research and Development QSTP-LLC is pleased to have the opportunity to interact and deepen cooperation with the leading university in the State of Qatar, as well as its Gas Processing Center and College of Engineering in research, development and educational areas. The results of the joint work will give an impetus to the development and integration of modern scientific and technical solutions and exchange of knowledge for the benefit of Qatar and Russia.”
