The Admissions Department at Qatar University (QU) held yesterday an orientation event for new students for Fall 2016, aimed at familiarizing them with the university, its programs, resources, facilities, services, academic and extra-curricular activities, and rules and regulations.
During the event, the new arrivals were provided the opportunity to gain relevant information that would ease their transition into the new academic environment. They participated in a number of activities to get acquainted with their colleagues and toured the campus and its facilities. The event also included an exhibition featuring a number of booths by the Academic Excellence Program, Career Services Center, Center for Academic Advising, Housing Department, Inclusion & Special Needs Support Center, Information Technology Department, Medical Clinic, Parents Program, QU Library, Scholarships & Partnerships Office, Student Activities Department, Student Affairs Sector, Student Counseling Center, Student Representative Board, Student Services Department, and Transportation Services.
The orientation exercises will continue until September 8. QU VP for Student Affairs Dr Khalid Al-Khanji welcomed the newly-admitted students and wished them a successful academic journey. He said: “The main purpose behind organizing this event is to provide our new students with the opportunity to gain valuable information on QU various programs and services, to assist them with any personal, financial, and housing questions or issues, and to give them the chance to get involved in the QU community.”
